Serhiy Clapetura, a sculptor (the city of Kamyanets’-Podilsky), makes Malkovych from clay.

Today Ivan Malkovych – the founder, the head and the editor-in chief of A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA Publishers celebrates his 50th Jubilee. He received birthday wishes from the current Head of State; from Viktor Yushchenko, the ex-President of Ukraine; Yulia Tymoshenko, the ex-Prime-Minister of Ukraine; from his numerous readers, friends, artists, cultural and public figures.

In the late April, during a small performance tour throughout Ukraine, following the offer of Serhiy Clapetura, a famous sculptor from Kamyanets-Podilsky, Ivan Malkovych was posing him for two hours as a “live model”.

Here is the sculpture sketch that Serhiy Clapetura managed to create within the two hours allotted.

“It was an exciting art adventure,” – Ivan Malkovych shared his impressions. “Actually the whole city of Kamyanets’-Podilsky is a special city with a rich history, architecture, a modern University, where more than 8 thousand students learn.

The sculptor Serhiy Clapetura himself is also one of the contemporary legends of Kamyanets’-Podilsky.

I received an unbelievable pleasure watching the process of my own “sculpturization”.

From time to time Serhiy was shifting his cursory glance from me to his sculpture and vice versa, he worked with clay insatiably, splashing, cutting, snoring, pouring with sweat – and in two hours, joking and smiling constantly with my fellow artists and organizers of my tour we all acknowledged the “live original” to have a lot in common with the sculpture…”
